Hey All
Been a bit of a delay with an update, things have been hectic to say the least. I have not been getting much done after work but these are the joys of trying to start a business while working full time.
The weather is definitely getting warmer and the bees are busy already. In fact my hive swarmed Friday just gone. I had thought I had missed it but as it turned out when I got home I discovered a very large swarm had entwined itself in my tea tree. For a first time swarm collection it was not the most ideal spot and as it was five by the time I got home time was not on our side. So now I have two hives.
Still we did manage to get the camera’s out and film most of the retrieval. We were not focused on production due to not being the current priority but we have spliced together a video and posted on YouTube. We will at some stage put the uncut version of each camera at some stage and still have a lot of other editing to catch up on.
We are still working on a bracket for the swarm catch box we want to put in the park and given the weather and activity need to try get that in soon. If that box is successful and there is no sign of habitation down the road will likely put swarm down there as close by so bees are still local to the area.
There have been reports of activity in all the hives we have put out so far and I would still like to get another one up at Mount Barker but that is likely going to be next weekend as gonna be pretty busy this weekend. Need a few extra things also for another hive and pennies are a bit low at the moment.
