Different styles of Beekeeping
One of the drawbacks of beekeeping is the heavy lifting involved. Bees need regular checking for disease and pests. This is also requirement of registration (anchor??). We have always liked the design of the Horizontal top-bar hive and are working on having one in our registration group.
We also are interested in testing the horizontal Langstroth design as this design can open beekeeping to people with mobility issues or other barriers of traditional hive design. While thespruce.com has a lot of good information there are many different designs for this style of hive and link provided is not an endorsement as I have not tested or used design.
